Compatibility

Is the EBMX X9000 V3 compatible with my Sur-Ron Light Bee?

Yes. The EBMX X9000 V3 controller is compatible with the Sur-Ron Light Bee across all years and regional variants. For a complete plug-and-play installation, you'll need the Light Bee-specific wiring harness. We offer two options:

  • Controller + Harness Kit — includes the X9000 V3 controller, Light Bee harness, display, throttle, and Bluetooth module
  • Light Bee Harness only — if you already own the controller

If you're unsure about your specific connector type or year variant, contact us before ordering.

Is the EBMX X9000 V3 compatible with my Sur-Ron Ultra Bee?

Yes. The X9000 V3 is compatible with all Sur-Ron Ultra Bee variants including the standard and 3C versions. You'll need the Ultra Bee-specific wiring harness and mounting kit for installation. We offer:

  • Ultra Bee Controller Kit — includes controller, Ultra Bee harness, mounting kit, display, throttle, and Bluetooth module
  • Ultra Bee Harness & Mounting Kit only — if you already own the controller

Does the X9000 V3 work with Talaria, Eride Pro, or other bikes?

Yes. The X9000 V3 universal base kit is compatible with a wide range of EBMX-compatible platforms including:

  • Talaria MX3, MX4, MX5, XXX
  • Eride Pro S, 2.0, 3.0, SR
  • Rerode R1
  • 79Bike
  • Custom builds

These bikes require a bike-specific harness sourced separately. The universal Controller Kit (no harness included) is the right option for these platforms. Contact us to confirm harness compatibility for your specific model.

Do I need a specific harness for my bike?

Yes. The X9000 V3 controller requires a bike-specific wiring harness for installation. Connector type and wiring layout vary by bike model, year, and region. Using the wrong harness can prevent installation or cause damage.

We stock harnesses for the Sur-Ron Light Bee and Ultra Bee. For other platforms, contact us with your bike model and photos of your existing connectors — we'll advise on the correct harness before you order.

What's the difference between the Controller Kit, the Light Bee Kit, and the Ultra Bee Kit?

All three kits are built around the same EBMX X9000 V3 controller. The difference is what's included:

  • Universal Controller Kit — controller, display, Bluetooth module, throttle, and cable. No harness. For riders who already have a compatible harness or are building a custom setup.
  • Light Bee Controller Kit — everything above, plus the Sur-Ron Light Bee-specific wiring harness. Plug-and-play for Light Bee.
  • Ultra Bee Controller Kit — everything above, plus the Sur-Ron Ultra Bee-specific wiring harness and mounting kit. Plug-and-play for Ultra Bee.

If you're upgrading a Light Bee or Ultra Bee and don't already have a harness, the bike-specific kit is the right choice.

Can I use the X9000 V3 with my existing motor?

In most cases, yes — the X9000 V3 uses FOC motor control and is compatible with a wide range of BLDC motors commonly used in EBMX-compatible builds. However, motor compatibility depends on your motor's specifications, connector type, and sensor configuration.

If you're unsure whether your existing motor is compatible, contact us with your motor model and specs before ordering.


Installation

Is installation plug-and-play or does it require cutting or modification?

For Sur-Ron Light Bee and Ultra Bee builds using our bike-specific kits, installation is plug-and-fit under standard configuration — no cutting or wiring modification required. The harness connectors are designed to match your bike's existing wiring points directly.

For other platforms using the universal kit, installation complexity depends on your bike's existing wiring. Some builds may require harness adaptation.

What tools do I need to install the X9000 V3?

For a standard Light Bee or Ultra Bee installation, you'll typically need:

  • Basic hand tools (screwdrivers, hex keys)
  • Trim removal tools (for accessing the controller bay)
  • A smartphone with the EBMX app installed (for initial setup and tuning)

No specialist tools are required for a standard plug-and-fit installation.

Do I need a professional to install the controller?

Not necessarily. Riders with basic mechanical experience and familiarity with their bike's electronics can complete a standard installation. However, if you're not comfortable working with high-voltage systems or are unsure about your bike's wiring layout, we recommend having the installation done by an experienced e-bike mechanic or workshop.

Incorrect installation can cause damage not covered under warranty. If in doubt, take it to a professional.

Does the kit come with installation instructions?

The kit includes hardware and wiring components. For installation guidance, EBMX provides documentation and support through their app and technical resources. If you have specific installation questions before or after purchase, contact us — we're happy to assist.


Tuning & Firmware

How do I tune the X9000 V3 controller?

The X9000 V3 is tuned via the EBMX X9000 app, available on iOS and Android. Connect your phone to the controller via Bluetooth (the Bluetooth module is included in all kits), and you can adjust settings directly from the app. No laptop or specialist equipment is required.

What can I adjust in the EBMX app?

The EBMX app allows you to adjust:

  • Throttle response curves
  • Power output and current limits
  • Riding modes (e.g. eco, sport, race)
  • Regenerative braking settings
  • Speed limits
  • Live data monitoring (voltage, temperature, current)
  • Firmware updates

The full range of adjustable parameters depends on your firmware version.

What firmware version do I need?

For the EBMX 3.5" TFT Display, firmware v830 or above is required. For general X9000 V3 operation, we recommend keeping firmware up to date via the EBMX app. Firmware updates are available through the app directly.

Note: Warranty does not cover damage caused by unauthorised firmware modification.


Shipping & Customs

Where do you ship from and how long does delivery take?

All orders ship from our China warehouse. Estimated delivery time is 15–25 days from dispatch. Shipments are tracked and insured.

Are customs duties and import taxes included in the price?

Yes. For most supported destinations — including the US, EU, and Australia — we use a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipping service. This means customs duties and import taxes are covered. The price you see is the total price. You will not be charged any additional fees by the carrier upon delivery.

Note: As we handle bulk customs clearance, individual tax receipts, VAT invoices, or import entry/clearance documents cannot be provided.

My tracking number isn't showing updates — is that normal?

Yes, this is normal. For international consolidation shipments, tracking updates may not appear for the first 10–14 days after dispatch. This does not indicate a problem with your order. Active tracking movement typically begins once the package clears customs and enters the destination country's postal network.

If your tracking shows no movement after 20 days, contact us and we'll investigate.

Do you ship to my country?

We ship globally with DDP service to most major destinations including the United States, European Union countries, Australia, and many others. If you're unsure whether we ship to your country or have questions about import requirements for your region, contact us before ordering.


Warranty & After-Sales

What warranty do your products come with?

All products sold by Capcode Motion come with a 1-year limited warranty from the date of delivery. Warranty support is handled directly by Capcode Motion — you do not need to contact the manufacturer.

What's covered and what's not covered under warranty?

Covered:

  • Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship
  • Component failure under normal operating conditions
  • Dead-on-arrival (DOA) units

Not covered:

  • Damage caused by incorrect wiring or installation errors
  • Damage from firmware modification or unauthorised tuning
  • Physical damage, water ingress beyond rated spec, or crash damage
  • Use beyond rated voltage or current specifications
  • Incompatible harness or connector issues

How do I submit a warranty claim?
